Memoirs Of A Perfume Collector California Love Extrait

California Love is Memoirs Of A Perfume Collector's newest release, from perfumer David Chieze, a bright, tropical-citrus fragrance built to feel like the first hour of a vacation. Passionfruit, orange, bergamot, and lemon open it with sun-on-skin brightness, a mojito-and-blackcurrant heart adds minty, sugared-lime, cocktail-bar energy, and it settles into clean musk, ambroxan, and a whisper of oakmoss for a warm, skin-close finish. It's an aromatic-fruity summer fragrance in the classic sense, light, upbeat, and built for daytime rather than an evening statement piece.

Scent Character

As the newest release in the catalog, we've drawn the notes and character below from cross-verified fragrance references rather than our internal scoring, which hasn't caught up to this release yet.

Fragrantica classifies this as an Aromatic Fruity fragrance, and that tracks with the note list: bright citrus and passionfruit up top, a minty-sweet mojito-blackcurrant heart, and a clean musk-ambroxan-oakmoss base. It reads lighter and fresher than the house's oud- and amber-heavy city fragrances, closer in spirit to the Cologne Intense releases (Pacific Grapefruit, Indian Vetiver) than to New York or Abu Dhabi.
